ATLANTA, GA - August 11, 2008 - The Butler Street YMCA honored renowned youth advocate, Al Duncan, for his dedication to serving young people. Butler Street presented Mr. Duncan with the President's Call to Service Award, which is only awarded to people with over 4,000 hours volunteer service.

Since 2005, Mr. Duncan—a well-known youth advocate, author, and soft skills trainer—has served as the steering committee chair of the Butler Street YMCA Young Achievers Program. Along with program director, Kathleen Johnson, under Mr. Duncan's leadership the program has tripled in size to now serving over 100 students. In addition to chairing the steering committee, Al Duncan also authored the program's 22-week soft skills curriculum. All of his service has been volunteer work.
